Hereby the code of ethics, it will include that I will always act

in a client's best interest as then always act with diligence, integrity, and professionalism.

I will provide professional services to a client regardless of ancestry, nationality, ethnic background, religion, age, social

and marital status, sexual orientation, political beliefs, or physical or mental disability.

I will always respect and protect the privacy and confidentiality of my clients and

with that never share confidential information of a client or member unless given permission in writing or required to do so by law.

I will always create a safe environment for my clients and ourselves where we all feel respected, comfortable and safe.

While not inherently wrong, behaviours such as giving/receiving a hug from/with a client after a triumphant moment in coaching, maybe misconstrued in its intention. For one client it may, according to some, “engender healthier relationships”, while for another it may feel like a boundary-crossing, which others would argue, might “pave the way to a boundary violation.”  We will always thrive for the best respectful way for both and ask permission. Seeking permission first and respecting our client’s wishes can avoid such boundary crossings/violations. We avoid the pitfalls of assumptions and honour our client’s personal and cultural boundaries in this way.

As a coach
I will not knowingly make any public statements that are untrue or misleading or make false claims in any written documents relating to the coaching profession.
I will accurately create, maintain, store, and dispose of any records of work done in relation to the practice of coaching in a way that promotes confidentiality and complies with any applicable laws.

I shall always be honest about the nature of my titles and degrees when referring to them to the general public, the media, and within the confines of our profession.

I will be responsible for setting clear, appropriate, and culturally

sensitive boundaries that govern any physical contact that I may have with my clients.

I will construct clear agreements with my clients and will honour all agreements made in the context

of professional coaching relationships.

I will ensure that, prior to or at the initial session,

my coaching client understands the nature of coaching, the bounds of confidentiality, financial arrangements,

and other terms of the coaching agreement.

I will respect the client's right to terminate coaching at any point during the process.

I will be alert to indications that the client is no longer benefiting from our coaching relationship.

I will seek the signed consent of a legal parent or guardian if working with a minor as defined by the laws of their state or province.

If I believe the client would be better served by another coach, or by another resource, I will encourage the client to make a change.

Client Welfare: I shall make the physical and mental well-being of each client a prime consideration.

Client Safety: I shall not engage in verbal, physical, or emotional abuse of any client.

Reasonable Practice: I  shall withhold coaching if a client's behaviour, appearance or statements would

lead a reasonable person to believe that the client should be evaluated by a licensed health care professional.

Conflicts of Interest
